Aren't guys trying to build this now? This little single was the shit at the Moto show

XS650 motor>shift shaft

So while getting down to the bottom end and looking for possible issues, this showed up. Someones clever idea of by-passing the stripped teeth on the shift shaft. Nothing to do but cut it off and tap out the shaft. Good idea too, turns out the shaft was bent, bad news is it may have damaged the seal on the way out.

Colour schemes

Getting dangerously close to being completed on the Kwaka cafe bike. I knew from the start I wanted to have some of the OG Kawi green in the paint scheme. So now I'm digging thru the interwebs trying to come up with some inspiration. These are a few I came across.

So you finally save enough money for that Honda Ruckus you've been wanting so bad. Well hot shot, this should be your next purchase. A bad ass demon/troll/joker helmet/visor to let everyone in scooter town know you don't mess around

Gasket kit

Dave from Disaster Motors, or the guy who puts on Disaster Daze kindly sorted me out with a Gasket kit for the motor. Came in the mail on Tuesday. Stoked.

Re-built Head

Bead blasted the top end and the rocker cover as well as new rebuilt top end, new valves, springs, guides, etc. The works.....

XS650 motor

I've had this motor sitting on the bench for quite some time now. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with it. I finally landed on building a little Japanese reliable hard tail.

I ran into a few hidden gremlins along the way, but over all not as bad as i thought I was going to find.

The bottom end is all in spec. It will get a full re-built top end, and a brand new electrics and covers. Basically a trouble free motor....

Retro moto

Seems this is a promo for a pitch to NBC about a show on Vintage bikes. A little vanilla and the language is a little corny, but overall seems like a solid idea. If it does end up getting picked up, it will more than likely end up on some obscure specialty channel...

Road trip

Looks like a bunch of us are going to check out this show in Portland. Looks cool. Our friend said it was a great time last time he went.
