So while getting down to the bottom end and looking for possible issues, this showed up. Someones clever idea of by-passing the stripped teeth on the shift shaft. Nothing to do but cut it off and tap out the shaft. Good idea too, turns out the shaft was bent, bad news is it may have damaged the seal on the way out.

XS650 motor

I've had this motor sitting on the bench for quite some time now. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with it. I finally landed on building a little Japanese reliable hard tail.

I ran into a few hidden gremlins along the way, but over all not as bad as i thought I was going to find.

The bottom end is all in spec. It will get a full re-built top end, and a brand new electrics and covers. Basically a trouble free motor....

Another begins.....I'm not generally a fan of Snowboard culture or snowboarders for that matter. Me and those guys never really got along to well. Oh well fuck it I'm not going to let that keep me from hitting some lines.

The season here is open mad early this year. El Nina is in effect again this winter and we couldn't be more stoked about it. If all goes right, My first day up will be this Monday.

Growing up skating in the 80s, the Powell team was the shit. The graphics alone murdered most companies out at the time, most not all. And the videos were by far the best. I'd say right up until Ban This. So the constant rumours of a Doc on this period with the key players made by Stacey was something to be stoked on, to get full on set photo confirmation was more than enough to settle my doubts.

And maybe just maybe after all these years they finally found Chin....

This will be my fifth time going. I can't remember for sure, I'm old and my memory is slightly pickled. I do however remember the first time. I was riding a shit piece KZ400. Although now by some standards it would be cool, then it was just a piece of shit jap that smoked alot. We parked around the corner. It was a pretty awe inspiring sight. Who knew this stuck up city had this much shit to offer up. I liked it on Main Street.

I usually don't hang around too long. I wanna go ride after seeing all the bikes. Last year I bounced an hour into it. It's not my fault, I love the coast and I can see bikes and my friends on the Mainland anytime. I can also spend a night in the bar there too. Fuck that shit. I wanted to go to a secluded beach with some friends, drink some beer and hang out in paradise. This year I hope I'll be able to keep roots at the actual show....I fucking doubt it man

When the BSA fell into my lap for a stupid cheap price I was stoked. I've gotten more stoked over time to find all the gems it came with.

The Ceriani front end was just the tip off that some one in the 60's loved the little bastard.

On top of loving it, it was raced. Supposedly very hard.

I was super weary about getting into the motor this winter. But after a little wrenching today this is what I discovered......
