Chopper motor
This is all I salvaged for the original basket case motor. The top end that was on it was in spec still but nearing the point of being clapped out. One of the shit things is this engine came with no hardware. So its a little of a pain in the ass trying to put it together when literally every bolt is missing
The pistons that came with the kit were quite a bit lighter than the OG stock ones I pulled out of here. Pretty stoked on how they should cut down at least a little of the vibes at idle...
even after hours of cleaning the cases on the bottom end they came out looking drab compared to the new shit on the top....
All new valves, guides, seats and rockers. Sitting in a nicely sand blasted home.
One of the few good things about this engine was that the bottom end was in good shape. The top end was pretty decent as well but I opted for a full top anyway. The after market big jug looks tits compared to the old stock one
I'm a lazy bastard and when I got this basket case there were a bunch of covers missing. So instead of buying the few that I needed I bought a set already polished on ebay for a steal. This way I got my covers and didn't have to get covered in polish....
Minus a few smaller things, The engine is complete and ready to go in.

Upcoming events
With winter done and the good weather on its way, swap meet season is here. These are a few gems that you shouldn't miss.
HERE is the link for Tsawwassen meet. Its old hat now, but there is always lots of cool bikes in the lots, and some good finds on the tables
Last year we went up to this in Penticton. All Car stuff mostly, and a little flea market vintage as well so you can play american picker if your heart fancies. The poster tells you the same as the link.
Also Coombs on the Island is on the 1st of April but I couldn't find a link online, but thats always worthy of checking out if you're into British

Winner, winner
Ash won a trophy at The One Show in Portland. Something about best freestyle.
I think it should have been for riding a shovel with one of the split tanks down with a mini bike on the back from Vancouver to Portland.

So a few things got done on the XS project. The hard tail was fitted and welded, the frame came back and I hacked off all the remaining little bits that i didn't need.
Got the front wheel spaced and sorted. The axle needed to be turned down, spacers machined.
The boys over at Arcmet did the Frame and machining for the wheel.
Threw it together to get an idea of where this bike is headed...

Moto Method
The Motomethod Story from Zenga Bros on Vimeo.
So I've decided to kill some of the links on the side and replace them with Canadian content in the hopes in helps out my fellow 'Nucks. Both locally and nationally.
If you have a Canadian blog or Website, hit me up I'll gladly link you and do a small feature as well
Todays feature is on Moto Method. This little movie has been making the internet rounds. My friend Luke's Trump chop makes an appearance, and strangely enough so do I. Unbeknownst to me. Fuck me I'm famous in the way that I'm neither credited or doing anything remotely interesting.

XS650 motor>shift shaft
So while getting down to the bottom end and looking for possible issues, this showed up. Someones clever idea of by-passing the stripped teeth on the shift shaft. Nothing to do but cut it off and tap out the shaft. Good idea too, turns out the shaft was bent, bad news is it may have damaged the seal on the way out.
