Sturgis North or WTF?

I got this sent to me on Facebook of all places. It was some bullshit event invite you can get all the gritty details here
In clarification I am a huge fan of motorcycles, but this one is beyond me. The name of the event was enough to throw me off to begin with. Then looking through the site almost brought my breakfast right back up.
I guess getting on your bike and making your own adventure is a lost art.

Thank god Dave still puts on Disaster Daze....

RIP

Gary passed away on the day I got married, almost at the same time I was getting married.
He was a good man with a hell of a lot of stories. He loved motorcycles and cars.
His first ride on a bike consisted of buying a 250 BSA and riding to Vegas right away.
Thats old school balls.
He will be missed by all that had the fortune of knowing the man....

I'm back....

Back from eternal sin, Here is a few randums from Vegas.
From hanging out in the desert, strange can bottles and odd urinal advice there wasn't a shortage of things to keep you from shaking your head.

Also what other city in the world would let 9 drunks into the range to fire automatic weapons...go figure

What goes around comes back around again....

Recently bought the latest issue of UK's Classic Bike and there is an article about a Rotary Engined bike. for a mere 20,000 pounds you can own 1 of 100.
I found it amusing that over the years they have tried and tried again to feed the motorcycle crowd a Rotary Engine. If you want to read about the 20,000 pound re-pop you can pick up an issue of Classic yourself....
Here are a few other Rotary gems from over the years

Norton’s last production run of motorcycles was to make 100 rotary engined "classics" in 1988. They had previously made them for police work in Great Britain. This is serial number 100 – the "last" Norton. It has a very inefficient two-rotor engine, hence all the cooling fans.

Here is the German Hercules, why they named it that is beyond me. It features a single rotor, air cooled, 294cc rotary engine. Horsepower was only 25 or 27 depending on model year. For a 300cc bike to be named Hercules must have been some insider joke between Heinz and his boys...

Here is the Suzuki that was made for only a year. The engine is so damn ugly I'm surprised they didn't burn the proto-type and stone the designer to death

With a track record like this, its no wonder that Rotary engine never caught on....

Rat Rodder.....

4 out 5 hot rodders agree White wall tires are the way to go...
